{about us} glasgow film office

Glasgow Film Office was established in 1997 to provide for Glasgow City Council a "one stop shop" to support film and television drama production. With the support of Scottish Enterprise Glasgow and European funding through Strathclyde European Partnership, GFO has grown over the years to become an organisation which acts as both film commission for the City of Glasgow and a sectoral development agency for the film and television companies located in the City.
Over the years, GFO has responded to changes in industry practice and positions its support and services to local companies in line with current market trends. For incoming productions, we have maintained a high level of service, offering the best competitive advantage to production companies wishing to film in Glasgow. Responding to the needs of film-makers, GFO works in close consultation with Council departments, local location owners and businesses to guarantee that Glasgow maintains its position as a fully supportive and film friendly location.
